How can clinicians and researchers meaningfully involve people with communication disabilities in shaping the research and services that affect their lives? This webinar, hosted by the IALP AAC Committee, explores the ethics, impacts, and practical applications of consumer and community engagement in research and service design. The webinar draws on established engagement guidelines and is illustrated using our own participatory projects involving children and adults with complex communication support needs.
The session is designed for communication sciences and disorders professionals who are interested in strengthening partnerships with the people they support. All specialisms are welcome. The session will include short, applied activities and an opportunity for questions or discussion.
