Maja Cepanec is Associate Professor and the head of the Child Communication Research Lab at the University of Zagreb (Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences). She is Speech and Language Pathologist with PhD in cognitive neuroscience. Her research activities are oriented toward early communication and language development, with special interest in understanding processes of typical development and neurobiological foundations of human behavior. Clinically, she works at the Early Communication Unit (Center for Clinical Education and Practice), where her professional activities are primarily oriented toward early assessment of preschool children, and especially autism diagnostics. She is author/editor of Croatian versions of MacArthur-Bates Communicative Development Inventories and Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2).
